1Borneo Merdeka Concert

This morning I woke up late, it's Sunday and also our National Day. On Sunday, we normally have our breakfast outside. So we decided to eat at Hong Kee, one of our favorite Coffee Shop which is well known for its fish head soup. I also like their side dish, yong tau foo (stuffed bean curb with meat paste). It was nearly noon time when we had our breakfast or you might say, our lunch too. After that we went to a nearby shop "Mega Store" recently opened and recommended by our daughter . The things sold there are very cheap. It was still too early to go home, we decided to drive our way to 1Borneo. When we reached there, there are no more free empty parking. All taken. We finally found a nice empty parking but need to pay RM5.00. What to do! Today is our celebration day. People were swarming in as there'll be a free live concert at 2.30 p.m. Ya, our own celebrities flown from the Kuala Lumpur, will be performing:-----------

I have seen them on T.V. but not in person. They look so different in real life. Amy Mastura's hair is longer now. AC Mizal, I think he co-hosted Academy Fanstasia 6? He had a clean cut and he spotted short hair. As for Amy Search, the powerful vocalist of Search, a rock band, I remembered, his famous hit song, Isabella. He has a clean shaven head. But they look good ever than before.

We are at this cafe, Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe. There is a back door entrance very near to the open air concert at the Gourmet Lane. We have our very lite Hi-Tea.

We could see thru' the glass wall from the inside of the Cafe. The concert ground was naturally crowded with Malays as the performers were of the same race. So we were having a relaxing time eating, sitting comfortably and listening to the live music. Our last order came:----------------------------

Segama Waterfront

At last I have the time to set foot on our newly completed waterfront park near Segama which is another recreation attraction in the city. The new waterfront is located at Jalan Tun Fuad Stephens, here.

It is especially good for evening leisure where you can sit down and relax watching the beautiful sunset.

Among the features of the new landmark are beautifully tiled pedestrian walkways, timber deck for closer observation of the sea, seating areas, rubbish bins, lighting, bollards, marine features and other public facilities.

The Hyatt Regency Hotel is right behind the Waterfront. Next to it is Wisma Merdeka which is one of the major shopping complex in the city. The other side is the Segama Shopping Centre where you can find cheap stuff.

Mooncake Festival

This year, the Mid-Autumn Festival or Moon Cake Festival falls on the 14 September. Now you can see all kinds of mooncakes and boxes display for sale in town. I am more attracted to the beautiful designs of the boxes than the mooncakes. This delicacy is getting costlier, a piece may cost RM10.00++.

Yesterday I took a day off from work, me and my family spent our day at 1Borneo, we went to Daiso, my favorite shop where you find each item costs RM5.00, no matter how small or big. This was my lucky day, new stocks had arrived. So I took my sweet times checking on the new stocks whether they were worth buying or not. Finally I bought 4 items. As we were in no hurry to go anywhere, we walked here and there throughout the shopping mall. We reached the Gourmet Lane near the main entrance where you can see beautiful decorated trees with lights, lanterns and each booth displaying different brand of mooncakes. I was tempted at that time but on second thought, it was better to spend on good food. Fish & Co was right at the corner. It's nearly 4.00 p.m., we took our seats and had our late lunch.

Cute Poodle

Miko is a nine months old poodle. His hair was specially trimmed by a dog groomer at a cost of RM80.00 for a service.

Look at his back, our puppy, Max is getting spotty. Miko came to our house to befriend Max. Ha ha, they are afraid of each other.
