This jackfruit brought back my memories of the early years while living in my parent's house, we had this tree planted right in front of the car porch. I remembered our tree was small compared to the huge tree we spotted today. The method of cutting down the fruit was a messy business, always use a sharp knife and apply generous amount of vegetable oil onto the knife and hands otherwise it'll be hard to get rid of the whitish slimy stuff.

The fruit pulps are edible and sweet and in fact the fruits are very popular here. They can be cooked, both dry and in a gravy. I have tasted quite a number of dishes made with jackfruits, ripe or unripe. They are very tasty. Even they are batter fried or made into dessert, so yummy.
